Planning:
We take you through
the decision process starting with an understanding of why and how you
offer benefits to your employees, your business dynamics and insight
into the regulatory and competitive landscape of the insurance arena.
We also provide you with an overview of the insurance marketplace and
the offerings available to you, including potential pitfalls. As a business
owner, a business consultant and a prior Chief Financial Officer of
a public entity, Mary Collins is uniquely qualified to see possible
solutions from your vantage point.
After we better
understand your business issues, we will work with you to design the
program and to gather the necessary demographics and financial data
we need. We then go out to the insurance marketplace to get bids from
insurance carriers to get the financial and benefit information we need
to further fine-tune the design. Our findings are presented to help
you understand the alternatives from both a financial and benefit-quality
perspective. Based on the results of our discussions, we work with the
carriers to finalize the best alternative for your company, keeping
you informed throughout the process.
Implementation:
Once the final determination has been made, we will
work with you and your team to implement the program. Our services include
planning the communication process, and outlining timetables and responsibilities.
We will help you draft employee communications and design how your employees
will be educated about the offerings. Our educational process may include
printed or on-line materials and on-site or webinar-based meetings.
The process is designed to meet your business environment and the needs
of your employee population.
Once the employees have made their benefit selections (either through
an on-line enrollment or completion of paper forms), we will help your
review the information for completeness and shepherd the case through
the carrier’s underwriting process, verifying that the information
is presented appropriately and any changes are handled and properly
communicated to you and the employees.
Ongoing Support and Communication:
After the
program has been implemented, we continue to work with you to:
- Develop new employee
educational packages
- Establish on-line
enrollment and benefit queries for your employees (as desired)
- Assist you with
billing and other administrative issues
- Assist your employees
in claim escalation issues
For you,
the employer, we:
- Provide a web-based
tool to allow for streamlined communication with us and with your
employees
- Assist you with
billing and other administrative functions (membership and other)
including educating you on the resources available to you from the
carriers and from other sources
- Provide you with
backup for employee claim issues and benefits questions
- Help you determine
the regulatory environment as it relates to the benefits and help
you to implement solutions
- Assist you with
HIPAA and COBRA compliance administration using certified COBRA and
HIPAA administrators
